What We Do
Food Aid and Holistic Support
There is a lack of food security within these communities and many of the students attend school with no lunch and some days, without eating. This not only results in malnutrition, lethargy and a lack of information retention but also despondency in the classroom and a compromised learning ability.
Since Covid-19 lockdown, Life Foundation began handing out food parcels to the community of Morkel's Cottage and Beverly Hills and what started off as 20 parcels per week, exponentially grew to over 300 food parcels being distributed weekly within 4 months.
Our school feeding programme also kicked off in 2021, cooking 2000 meals per week over a 7 week period. The school has seen a dramatic increase in school attendance due to a warm meal being served.
